Geert Vermeire

Geert Vermeire (BE) is a poet, artist, curator, and cultural producer working across walking arts, sound art, and locative media. His practice spans Portugal, Spain, Greece, and Brazil, with a focus on ecological intelligence and participatory collaboration. He co-founded Walk · Listen · Create, a global platform with over 8,000 registered users, and co-directs the biannual International Walking Arts Encounters in Prespa, Greece. He co-organises The Walking Body in Guimarães with Natacha Antão Moutinho and Miguel Bandeira Duarte (Lab2PT / University of Minho). Since 2024, he has been artistic coordinator of the EU-funded WALC (Walking Arts & Local Communities) project (2024–2027), establishing an International Centre for Walking Arts.
